I think zooming in on the subject and possibly convert to B&W I think you might have captured the moment better as well as the mood of the subject.

I thought about both things...I even tried the b/w and leaving the crosswalk sign in color...the image quality is not up to a zoom, I don't think...thanks for the critique...

One thing that I have read on other photo forums is that a lot of time taking photos of homeless folks, if you offer them a dollar or two to take their photo, they will normally let ya.

I didn't have the 20D when this photo was taken...I did it with a Fuji S9000, and a kit 2x converter...

I like the spare quality of the photo and the way it is framed between the posts. Kind of
arty. The foreground seems a little too bright to me. Hey, I'm no expert, but according
to some posts in another thread, non-experts can espouse opinions too.

nice use of the light posts to frame your subject. Try coming in just a little more to where the light post are a little more on the sides of the image.

One other thing you could try since this is digital you could take out part of the wall and make it more square of an image. Then use the the light posts for framing.

kinda like this and the framing. I couldnt explain it so i just did it

I believe that this was taken from the Metro bus stop at McKinney and Main, looking southeast...
