Fantastic essay. I have photographed wars, conflict and other ways that humans could possibly harm each other without flinching. I am not certain that I would have the courage to photograph something as wonderful as child birth, I wonder what that say's about me? Marty |

Those were wonderful! Definitely full of feeling. I love the top picture especially because it shows exactly what (I imagine) a father feels while his wife is in labor: watching her in pain from afar and excluded because he can't feel what she's feeling. It would be interesting to go back and do "one year later" with the parents, bottles, strollers and the baby. That would be way cool. |
