He is going to be at a big Republican Rally at Reunion Arena Monday Night, the day before the elections.

Should be a lot of activity outside of the Arena.

Protest network is buzzing.

Press access is usually pretty restricted at those sorts of things. Lots of security to deal with (Secret Service) and whatnot.

Good luck to anybody going...it could be fun.

I dont think any of us who are going to cover the event are going inside. There will be alot of action out side. Last time he came into Dallas the night before election day like he is doing this time over 2000 protesters showed up. My contacts are expecting that much if not more. It should be a fun night.

We understand that we are not going to be INSIDE, may try to cover VIP's driving in before the event, because actually Outside will be more interesting anyway.

after I posted that....I was thinking, outside would probably be better.

Besides...covering angry protesters is more fun.

Protest Details - 11-01-2006, 03:23 PM

Here are the details on the protest from my contacts:

Protesters will meet and stage at Ferris Plaza between 2pm and 3pm.

Protesters will march down to Reunion and protest in front of the arena. The protest will take place from 4-8pm or longer.

Dallas Police DSS will be blocking most of the area so DART is the way to go.

Dallas Police contacts are telling me that they are preparing for over 5000 protesters.

Will post more into as I get it.

Hmm sounds interesting I might end up going also. Have to find a good plan for parking. Matter of fact any one want to meet up at a specfic location? Some times its good to have some people you know parked in the same area.

I would say to park at Mockingbird Station and ride DART to Union Station. I was planning on meeting Paul at Farris Plaza.

Lets plan!

Yep, I'm going for sure. Paul had talked about maybe parking close to City Hall but I'm starting to wonder about that as well. I've never ridden the Dart train but parking at Mockingbird Station sounds like a viable alternative. David or anyone else- got any particulars on riding Dart, such as does it cost to park at Mockingbird Station, what is the cost of Dart, how long does Dart run back to M Station, etc. Yeah, the more of us together, the better off we will be. Thanks, Rick
