Well, my psychic prediction is that nobody can get too worked up about what they said 3 years ago. (The war was a lot more recent then, and they were hotter then, which I think helped generate more reaction.)
You know what we need? Get the anti-dixie-chick people, the neo-Nazis, the anti-fur and anti-Bush and anti-abortion people all at the same place. THEN you'd have a protest.

I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

Just got back in, ended up street shooting by the AA and in the West End till about 8:20 then started going home and was aw struck by NEIMANS!!!!!! Spent about an hour there until I saw a guy looking a bit confused with a P+S so started talking to him and he was from London and had grown up in Scotland. Ended up walking with him down to Deep Ellum telling him some history about the city and the area- HE HAD HEARD OF IT AND WANTED TO SEE IT. So I got him down to Daddy Jacks to get dinner at 9:40 and I left him there-his first time out of the United Kingdom-in town for work. He said people were real friendly here.
Then of course as I was walking back to Neimans I had to take shots and stopped at the Multi University Center to get some info on courses- looks like no Photography there and all grad level anyway. (would like to have audited a course on Photography or PJ- maybe check at El Centro.
Well No protestors and even had a guard yell at me for taking pictures- said the STREET in front of AA was Private Property- which it isn't. I just said I would leave and did.
NOW NEIMANS! Man IT IS A MUST SHOOT!!!!
I have an idea about Friday Night- Since SCOOBY is wanting to get people to shoot at the Curtain Club we can do Neimans Before and actually meet up at the Sons of Herman Hall for the Gary Brodnax Show- then do Neimans from about 8-9 then drive back to Curtain and do the bands *first band will be on after 9 pm -- BTW the parking around neimans is free on the street in the evening.

Shirley Jenkin's Concert review in today's FW Startle-gram gave the concert a good review. Sorry to burst your PJ protest bubble, but despite everything they are, and always have been, incredibably talented musicians and writers. They have a loyal following among many who appreciate talent.

/* | You don't get it at all, I have been a fan since I saw them busking outside of spaghetti warehouse in the West End about 15 years ago! I saw them at Joey Tomatoes on McKinney, I actually new their early managers when there were 4 girls in the group before they were signed by Sony Records. I actually met 2 of the girls right when they were signed by Sony Records.
THIS IS ONE REASON THAT THIS AREA SHOULD NOT BE OPEN FORUM!!!
THIS WAS A POST FOR A POSSIBLE PJ SITUATION AND ONLY THAT, not to be a discussion of the group or their politics.
And Who is to say that they were not going to draw protestors out there? I actually talked to a couple ticket scalpers down the road from the Arena about it and he said they had the right to free speach and since it was 3 years ago when she said what she said that people had just calmed down and were not going to go out on a colder night to protest. Also talked to some ladies in the West End about the situation and they were glad that I had seen no protestors there earlier-I believe they were going to the show also though the first act had already hit the stage.

So you're the one who has their bubble burst and since your not doing PJ work or probably never will just keep your mouth shut and let us do our thing! |
I agree with Paul on this one. I do think the PJ section should be like the Human Form section.
I can say that my contacts at DPD were ready if anyone showed up. My contacts at CBD told me that they were ready to call the Intel detectives if anyone showed up.

Morning,
So would we need a PJ Badge or special code word to get into the Forum.
Would it also give special features to be even more rude??
I didnt' care much for your posts before, I thought a lot of them seemed to be self-serving, but now I see you in a completely different light, one that isn't very flattering.
Speaking like that to anyone, especially someone as kind and caring as Jerry is wrong, I count him as among my good friend and I take personal exception to that kind of verbal attack.
I hope this thead doesn't get deleted because I think everyone should see your fine work, is this part of your PJ Style?

Take care,
Craig

You know I am VERY close to nixing this whole section because it is obvious that some members can not follow our rules...
The very first post in this section explains the Rules that should be followed within this section... 1. Religious/Political discussions are NOT allowed. 4. Photojournalism
Photojournalism is posted for discussion of the photography, the methods used to acquire images and media credentials, and techniques of coverage. They are NOT open for debate about the subject covered. The Offense Structure 1st Offense: A formal warning will be sent via PM
Upon a members first offense, a PM will be sent to them informing them of the rule violation and they will also be informed of this Offense Structure. 2nd Offense: Account Suspension for 14 days
Upon a members second offense, the member will have their account suspended for 14 days. Any attempt to circumvent this suspension by creating extra accounts on the forum will directly lead into a Permanent Ban from the forum. 3rd Offense: Permanent Ban from the forum
Upon a members third offense, the member will be Permanently Banned from the forum and will never be welcomed back.
As for our Offense Structure, I am also close to skipping the 1st offense and starting right off with 14 day Account Suspensions... Ill be going through the responses more thoroughly and handing out suspensions accordingly... | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
