NSM (Nazi) Rally in Austin... - 11-12-2006, 08:19 PM

My second ever attempt at PJ, and I love it. Sadly, I was limited to a kit lens and a 50mm 1.8, but no excuses, I did my best. What do you guys think?

A pitty that this still goes on in America.

Great display of PJ, almost like I was at the event.

Thanks!

As for the facial covers, I don't know. Those guys are ARA, which is an anti-racist group. Back in Dallas, and lot of my friends were SHARPs (Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice), and they were proud to show who they were. Sharps and ARA are a lot alike in a lot of ways. Not many people realize that a large portion of skin heads are against racial seperation. Skin heads originally had nothing to do with race issues, but since most people don't know the origins of that culture, they go by what the media shows, and they think that any and all skin heads are bad and race motivated. Maybe these ARA's are afraid that people will see them and just assume they are nazi skins, and they don't want the problems that could bring with work and such. Just a guess, but I bet it's close... ;)

Thanks again for the compliments. Really makes me (even more) motivated to go out and shoot every chance I get...
Now I just gotta get someone to trade me a lens w/ a little length for my PSP. Then I'll be set, and REALLY happy lol... ;)

How long did the rally last? Good photos, capturing the moment.

Great photos! You did a first class job.

The reason the ARA people have there face covered is that they dont want to be IDed by the police.

Some great shots overall.

Why would you wear neckties in a potential riot situation?

So, why do you think the Nazi is taking pictures of the crowd in the 21st picture?
