I just edited this gallery and was going for a Photojournalist look. Even though the damage was quite some time ago this gallery still receives a lot of attention. I took these shots almost a year ago but little has changed since they were shot. Comments either here or in the gallery are welcome:

This is as good a photo essay (and better than most) that I have seen on Katrina - I've been in there several times now and it really puts a somber outlook on problems we might "think" we have- Thks for posting. Really good work

Very nice set of photos Lance very journalistic, I am from New Orleans and was there when that dreadful storm took our homes and lives away. I have photos from the day after the storm that I try not to look at to often as the images are still in my mind. here is a shot of my home, It has since been torn down and at this point I don't see myself returning to the city.

Even though my house was in a totally different part of the city, just looking at photos like these still give me a really bad feeling.
