Ice Storm - 01-16-2007, 05:46 PM

I am watching the news and am looking at pictures from McCalister OK, The pictures coming from OK are unbelievable! The final damage tally in terms of $ and lost revenue is going to be unbelievable! I heard the MO governer is calling it the worst natural disaster ever in MO.

However farther south in Austin the Ice was not bad news for everyone I have gotten indications one of these may run in our local.

Kids in Cedar Park woke up Tuesday morning to find out they had no school and plenty of icy hills. Hunter Eckert (12 yrs.) takes a spill on this icy hill as he tries to ride down standing up on his skateboard.

12 year old Cole Labrake (foreground) of Cedar Park slides down the icy hill on a sled made from a skateboard with no wheels as Ben Cook watches on. Kids were found using whatever they could find to sled with since snow and ice is so rare here most kids don't own an actual sled.

Brothers Carder Labrake (15 yrs. left) and Christian Labrake (5 yrs. right) use their makeshift skateboard sled to go sliding down an icy hill in Cedar Park.

The eastern part of Oklahoma was hit hard. I live outside the Metro, but its a rural part of the county. The roads here suck and school has been closed for 3 days now.

Another storm moves in this weekend, 3-6 inches of snow are expected....

And just a few days ago everyone was complaining about the lack of winter weather...

---------------------------
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

Dallas pretty much dodged this one with getting just sleet and a bit of freezing rain while South, North, East and West all got nailed. HEAT ISLAND EFFECT?
