Good capture, R D! What were you shooting with and how close were you to the action? When you show up at something like this, what's your course of action to stay out of the way but get where you need to be to shoot?

I was shooting with a Canon 20D, Sigma 24-60 f2.8 lens and a 580EX flash. I was 10 to 20 feet when I shot those. Since I am on Bullard VFD I pretty much run of the scenes as long as I don't get in the way or put myself and others in harm. My health doesn't let me make attacks anymore so they love for me to take photos and operate pumps.

Interesting! I always try to shoot from a distance, Sigma 70-200/2.8, but haven't used a flash. Looks like that may have caused a bit of underexposure when the TTL metered off their reflective jackets. It's awesome that you contribute through your photography; I think that's one of the biggest purposes of our art. :)
