Brakes? What brakes? - 01-28-2007, 11:55 AM

Driver claims he "fell asleep" and this was the result. He ran a stop sign, crossed the highway, drove up the driveway while managing to go through on open gate, up over a slight rise and becoming airborne before coming to rest in the house. Happened right in front of a police officer doing patrol. If fact, the officer told me he had dropped his flashlight in the car and stopped to pick it up. If he hadn't stopped, the car would have hit him. Guess it was his lucky night.

Guess I was lucky. When I fell asleep I just hit a tree.

I've done a few crazy things being sleepy at the wheel, but I haven't hit a house (yet)!

The night I graduated High School...............(yes, I had had a few more than a few too many). it was late and I just dropped off a girl at her house. I fell asleep, ran off the road and totaled my mom's car on a back country road. I got a ride from a stranger who took me home. Woke up my mom and told her what happened, she asked where the car was and I had no idea. The Sheriff's Department found it the next day. My mom wasn't all that mad, since I have two older bothers who also wrecked cars a few times.

We had a call the other night, OK it was a couple of months ago. Car in the house. It was amazing how he managed to get this in here this way.
Front of truck. The other side of the wall is the residence bedroom and were the headboard sits. Yes he was awaken.

Rear not touching the house next doors

and wrecker driver tring to figure how to get it out.

My guess is that he came in at a slight angle and the impact rotated the car around. Look at how it 'dragged' the cable.

Why was he driving between the houses? That's freaking wild.

Given the choice of hitting one or the other house head on, or driving between...

I'd pick between. :)

Wow, awesome pair of photos guys. Only heard about a couple of cars going through houses out this-a-way, both times before I ever owned a camera. Pity!

Wow, nice capture both of you! We had a vehicle lodged in the side of a house back in the summer, just off Renfro in Burleson, but it was gone before I could get my camera.
