This was a great street scene shoot since if you were behind the girls you could watch people approach the crosswalk in front of them see them look up and do a double take but only bad thing is that they usually were in shade until they walked halfway across the crosswalk.

Now you will say that some of the peoples faces are out of focus, well they are on purpose, I shot it in such a way that in many cases you can still read their faces or see their body language but they are not destinct while in a few cases I did focus in on the looks on the people faces because they are so funny in some cases-one in particular is that of a black woman.

So visit the album and add comments here as to composition, etc.

I tried to get a shot of the construction workers down the middle of the next project on several floors watching what was going on but they were in such deep shadows the shots just did not work when I pulled them up on the comp-way to much noise pops up when trying to open up the exposure to bring them out of their background and since most of them are wearing dark clothing it made it even worse. But if you look at the construction closely down the block you may spot a few guys on various floors or at least their white helmets.

Captures of expressions on people's faces: PRICELESS!

Great series... makes me wish I was there.

It seems to me that the exhibit itself, and consequently most of the shots of it, come across more as a "performance art" exhibit than any kind of protest. They're there to promote a message, but that message just doesn't seem too evident. While the comments talk about the people's faces, probably the #1 thought behind those faces is "why are these ladies out here?" The hearts on their chests do have a very small stylized "PETA" at the bottom, and the one girl has a "fur out" sign, but I'll bet half those people walk by and never realize what this is even about. A good number of the shots are taken from behind the ladies, and there is nothing in those shots to give you a clue as to what is going on as well. I remember seeing some shots a while back from a "I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" protest (maybe here, I don't remember) where the girls were painted with animal graphics, with one in a cage, and that seems to carry the message better, both in photos and on the scene.

---------------------------
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

Paul does he homework. I know he goes on the message boards, websites and chat rooms for the different activist groups and gathers info and press releases. He does what any freelancer should do if they want to get the story. He does a great job.

Looks like typical "I want to be the center of attention" girls to me more than a protest. Good excuse to be an exhibitionist I guess.

You sure capture a diverse amount of subjects. I envy you. Inspires me to get off my buttocks other than weekend shoots.
