Early AM House Fire - 02-09-2007, 08:33 AM

The police were out in full force, so I wasnt able to get as close as I wanted too, but here it is -- comments welcomed on the photo. It appears to be a bit out of focus, but I had to crop what I had. I am going to go back to the scene when they are done for some pics of the house.

One more I grabbed about 15 mins ago. They are kinda picky about where you can and cant go here, something I wasnt expecting. Guess I will have to get in good with firefighters here.

Hey Thomas,

That is common that F.D. or P.D. will not let you close. In a lot of cases it is considered a crime scene until determined otherwise and they just don't want people wandering around into places that in alot of cases are unsafe. What size lense were you using? I typically have been able to shoot from across the street. Sometimes that means being creative and maybe taking other streets and walking in from between houses. It also means you need a good tele lens.

The sad thing is I am one of them. Just not in the town I live in. Its just cause the town I live in is super small. I was just using my kit and 50mm lens, its all I had with me at work and on my way home.

I need to get a good tele lens, but no funds right now. I wanted to shoot across the street, but they gave me the evil eye once I got out of the car and I wanted to avoid any problems. Thanks for looking.
