After looking at all your images, I'd say that the only problem I have is with the first one you posted here. In BW, those just look like muddy hands or something other than red blood. In color, you get a much better appreciation of what it is...
otherwise cool series...
@Jbrem: Yeah, I wrestled with that before posting the B/W. Sadly, the paint they chose to mimic the color of blood was more of a bright red, which, as you can see on the others, doesn't look much like blood at all.

Sadly, I do know what spilled human blood looks like...

James is a great photographer and does openly state his advocacy so I look at his work knowing the potential for an ad hominem perspective.

Having been in a war I can't always disagree with much of his position.

All I can say is how embarased i am to have this "school" affiliated with the Churches of Christ..... there are veterans at the COC i attend- from WWii to the current war in Iraq/Afganastan. Hope they don't hear about it. The problem just illustrates the problems going on in COC's everywhere.

Not sure what your post has to do with this thread. If you'd like to comment on the photos, that's fine. Comments about the institution where the event took place, or any religious bodies you may or may not belong to should be made elsewhere.

Sorry I missed this last month.
Ah, to be young and to be in school. So much opportunity, so many things happening worth photographing.
I actually like the first photo of the hands in black & white. At first glance, I didn't think it resembled blood, but rather mud. Kind of like pulling a person out from a mud.

I'd like to comment on the bickering that went on here: I personally would've just replied: "Thank you, but what I really wanted was c/c on the photographs" :-p

Eddie Adams seems to think his advocacy journalism had a bad effect in the long run:

" The general killed the Viet Cong; I killed the general with my camera. Still photographs are the most powerful weapon in the world. People believe them; but photographs do lie, even without manipulation. They are only half-truths."

What the photograph didn't say was, 'What would you do if you were the general at that time and place on that hot day, and you caught the so-called bad guy after he blew away one, two or three American people?'
