That first one is crazy! Somebody is going to come home and not be real happy. I wish the giant light pole hadn't leapt out of the ground like that.

The house was the Centex Model Home at the Knolls in Frisco. You can still smell the smoke. Much easier to shoot today without all the activity going on. Easy to keep things like lamp post out.

Hate to see any nice home burn, but on the other hand, at least it wasn't someone's home going up in smoke...

I heard the sirens then smelled the smoke. The house is located very close to my house.

Very nice shots. I shot news video for 11 years in Illinois. They always liked house fires. Visually dramatic shots really spiced up the boring evening news.

Biggest thing to be concerned with is staying out of everyones way while you shoot. They sometimes get a little worked up if you are in their way.

Since this was my first time shooting anything like this, I was very careful to stay out of the way. I shot this with a 70-300 so I could keep my distance. The police were stopping cars from going into the subdivision, as I walked by them, I just said hey, looked professional, and they left me go right on by.

I need to get a copy of these printed up and drop them off at the fire station.

The firemen will be thankful... especially any shots that they can identify themselves in.
