Hey, Robert - - - good shots.
In #1, you tell the story: dogs, suspects, cops - you got it all. However, there isn't anything that grabs your eye. You took the shot standing up. That's the same angle people would see the picture if they were there, but because that is what their brain is used to seeing, the picture doesn't grab you. Think about shooting from different angles. Imagine what this shot would have looked like if you had been lying on the ground in front of the suspect and the dog came into your frame. Try to get away from the "6 foot tall" syndrome.
#2 - crop it. The right side of your shot says nothing. You probably don't even need the instructor in the back ground. Crop tight.
#3 - The dog is good - teeth flashing and looking dangerous. It would be even better to have a person's face in the shot too.
I don't know what you are using to process your photos, but all the shots need some sharpening and a bit of contrast.
As a law enforcement officer, you have access to some good photo opportunities. There is a real need for good training photos and you have good equipment. Lets see some more of your work! |
