The foam this Grand Prairie firefighter was spraying splashed back on him while fighting a fire on a third floor balcony of a senior citizen apartment Friday evening.

Good shot, Bob.

And good planning. I don't normally carry a 300 with me when I go out on assignment - I carry a 70-200 and a 1.4 extender if I need it.

Do you normally carry a 300 with you?

Any way - good timing and good shot.

Thanks for the comments.

Well the lens is a 70-300 4.5-5.6 zoom that stays in my second camera bag along with some seldom used lenses and other "stuff" that's in the trunk of my car. It is slow so only pick it up when I think I might need it during well lit times. But it has worked real well on several occasions and has allowed me to get the shots I've needed.

Thanks again for the comment,
Bob

Well, it's soap! AFFF is an extra thick detergent. The purpose is to enable water to float on oil (it also forms a coating to keep oxygen from combining with fuel and cools the fire).
