These tell the continuing story.

Coffins rising from the ground in a flood is fairly common, just not talked about much. It happened on the island my mom grew up on in Virginia after wind-driven flood waters covered the whole place. It's really creepy and just another sign of the woe.

The time it will take to fix everything is far under-estimated by most. There are many areas that haven't been touched yet.
Take a look at New Orleans. I was there in October last year, and there are many areas that are still untouched. Downtown is starting to look alive again, but there were many storefronts still closed. Unless there is plenty of money to do work right now, it is a very long process.

I was in Galveston on December 27 and took the ferry over to Boliva. It looked as if very little clean up had been done. Of course I didn't see it right after Ike. It will be a very very long cleanup process.

I did see one photog down under where the Flagship entrance from the sea wall used to be with a light setup and waiting on his model. And another photog on the east end by a large tree stump.

All of the areas have a lot of clean up to do and it isn't something that is talked about much outside of the area. I have relatives that live in the Orange area and they told me that Bridge City was especially hit hard. Something we haven't heard much about in Houston. Every day more and more bad news comes out of Galveston as businesses announce they are closing never to return. It will be a long time before things are back to normal, whatever normal will mean anymore.
