Photoshop Challenge #12 - 11/01/05 - 3 in 1!!! Texas Sadie WINS!! - 11-01-2005, 09:29 AM

Okay, we are going to try something a little different on this one. Thanks to Jezebel's inability to make a decision (you know we love you anyway ), this challenge will include 3 different images. Similiar to the contests in Popular Photography magazine, the following rules apply:

1) You MUST use at least one element from each image to create ONE final image for your entry
2) You MUST keep these G rated, we do have youngsters viewing this section as well.
3) Have fun with it, and let those creative juices flow :)

So have fun with it! Let's see some creative, abstract stuff, or whatever else you want to do!

Wyatt -

Since Wyatt beat me to the punch with a similar idea, I'll try another approach with this one ..

Fun challenge! Nice photos too. Love the one of Jez.

Layer 1 (background) is the design in the grillwork behind the piano. I enlarged it, turned it blue and gave it a heavy film grain

Layer 2 is Jez. I applied a blue filter and fresco filter

Layer 3 is the bird and branches.

I added a few snowflakes, a frame and the lettering.

Patrick,

If you can swing it, join NAPP (Nat'l Assoc. Photoshop Professionals) ... www.photoshopuser.com ... their annual fee is really very reasonable. They have "weekly" video tutorials, and an archive of an enormous amount of tips. There is a "user" forum, and if you live near a city where they happen to be conducting a seminar, members get a pretty good discount. My only semi-quasi training has been through this venue. I wish I had more time to attend formal classes, but this works and has worked very well for me.

I hope this works for you too.
Randy

Have you tried a local community college? I took a course in computer graphics (my major has been advertising) several years ago and it was great. Photoshop and Illustrator were two of the graphics programs we used.
