Photoshop Challenge #1 - 2010

Here's a submission for the first photoshop challenge of 2010.

Unfortunately, I made a mistake when I took the original photo and iso was set to 1600 which made it more noisy than I would have preferred. Noiseware helped a little.

Look forward to see what you clever artists come up with.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful image. I love the colors in the sky and the windmill. Great job on the noise handling! I'll play.



I started with tonemapping and then got rid of the clouds since I thought they were a bit distracting. I used Content Aware Scale to compress what I thought were the most interesting parts (Windmill, tank, tree and sunset) and try to minimize all of the vines on the fence which I liked least.

Then I just added a few birds to round out the composition and I tweaked the saturation and contrast and did a final crop.
