Ps #23 - Voting Closed - 11-20-2006, 11:21 PM

Congratulations again to Capt. Ray and simon for their last victory! They have given us some great images for an Image Combination Challenge. Remember to use parts of at least three images in your final composition. If you have questions on the challenge format, look back at several of our past challenges. This one is pretty much the same, but with an open theme!

Good luck all!

Challenge type:
Image Combination Challenge (see Challenge Types)
Client Requirement(s): Keep it PG, otherwise go nuts!
Challenge Begins: Nov. 20th
Voting Begins: Dec. 1st
Voting Ends: Dec. 9th
Submitters Notes: None
Images:

WINNER'S SPOILS
  • Wins the right to choose the next challenge type!
  • Gets to submit the challenge images!
  • Has the option to post their techniques after voting is closed!
  • Wins Texas-sized bragging rights!
  • Gets a Canon 1Ds Mark V! (all purchase funds provided by the winner)(Offer not valid after 2006)
CHALLENGE TYPES (we will grow this over time)
Here are the challenge types that the winner can pick from for the next contest:
  • Client Image Challenge: Change the original image to meet the clients needs or request. This can be as simple as changing the mood of a portrait, or making a full-blown press-ready ad image. This is what we do!
  • Image Combination Challenge: Combine between three and five images into one final image. Make them laugh, make them cry..it's up to you!
  • Logo Challenge: Create a business, product, or ad campaign logo from the element(s) provided. Smith's Photography...Uber-Clean Cleanser...anti-jaywalking campaigns...they all need a logo!
Good luck everyone!

Okay... my workflow:

I decided to make it look like the street was flooded and there were alligators wading around in the swampy water. So, I used a layer mask on the water picture to fit it into the street, often using a large fuzzy brush to fade it in. Then I put the alligator in and played with the levels and hue/sat a bit to try to make it match the rest of the picture. Finally, I hit some of the alligator-water seam line by adding some "splashes" (white fuzzy brush at low opacity + white spatter brush).
