Photoshop Challenge #1 - CLOSED!!!!! - 05-26-2005, 07:13 PM

Kinda tweat the rules as we go, PM me with any suggestions you might think would add to the fun.

Being this is our first PS-Challenge it might not be a full two weeks but we will get everything on track soon. I figured with the holiday weekend coming up it might be a fun time to get this started. So without any more delay, here is the first PS Challenge. Taken by our own Cody Clinton (jcclinton) at last weeks wedding, a beautiful bride image with so many different ways to enchance and have fun with.

I will give a day or two notice before closing off the entries, then everyone will vote on their favorite PS version of the image. The winner will submit a photo for the next PS Challenge.

Also Photoshop does not need to be used any image program is OK, and there are no rules on what you can or can not do to the image as long as it stays clean (PG-13 stuff)

I played with some of the adjustable light effects in PSP9 for this...

I really liked this photo, so I didn't do a lot to change it. My biggest concern was with color, so I selected the dress and veil, desaturated and brightened them, to acheive a white hue. I then selected the stained glass, and using nik color effex, did a photo filter to add more color, and underexpose it just a little. I then added a nik color effex soft gold reflector, aimed at her face, and to finish used the history brush to get the color back in the flowers. I think that covers most of it.

Unless my eyes deceive me, you've "adjusted" some other aspects of the photo as well . . . very innovative  The disiciples in shades and giving the "Texas Salute:" priceless :!:

Thejackstir, your take is HILARIOUS!!!

I decided to stay serious (boring, I know) & lighter. Here are 2 takes:

#1: Duplicated the image 2 times & changed the blending mode to screen on both duplicated layers. Desaturated the original background layer.

#6

#2: Followed korrupt's pencil drawing instructions. Lowered the opacity of the pen drawing layer & added a slight gaussian blur.

My offering should come up in a day or two.

Just a quick edit. Didn't have time to really work on it.

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

Yes, 3000 photos of little kids but 4 of them were good!

Cody and Mike are closeted Nikon users. They handicap themselves with Canon equipment to make it fair for the rest of us :D
