Review: Pixtus Photowalks
Pixtus photowalks provide opportunities to get out from behind your computer and rediscover the world of photography. They provide a unique opportunity to observe the perspective of others and Sonny lying on the ground. Human interaction reminds participants that conversations are fun, and occasionally laughter erupts in the group. Overall, my experiences with
Pixtus Photowalks have been positive, and they are a lot of fun.
Pros:- 12x minimum daily dose of vitamin D
- Laughter provides an excellent ab workout
- We walk/wander slow enough for all ages to participate
- Lemmings can stick to the back and make fun of the indecisiveness at the front of the pack
- Ample opportunity to take photos of Pixtus members acting like idiots (see cons)
- Depending on location, weather can be awesome.
- Beautiful subjects along the walk route (often flowers, broken bottle, rusted doors, peeling paint, and my personal favorite, fire hydrants and standpipes.)
- Occasionally Pixtus members bring their children, who provide hours of entertainment
- Food/beverages often precede or follow Pixtus Photowalks. Yum!
- You get to take TONS of photos!
Cons:- Occasionally difficult decisions have to be made, such as: right or left?
- Cameras will be capturing all of your idiotic moments (see pros)
- The group tends to wander in circles, often leading to confusion about where you parked.
- Snails crawl faster than we walk, cancelling any potential health benefit of walking for two hours.
- Depending on location, weather can suck
- You have to edit TONS of photos!
Summary: Pixtus Photowalks are a great opportunity to talk with other photographers, network about your business, and learn and observe techniques of others. This is greatly enhanced with the combination of Pixtus Monthly Meetups. (Separate review pending.) Together, these are a killer combination for improving your photography skills.

The Verdict: Pixtus Photowalks are awesome. Y’all need to come on the next one, and the one after that. If you don’t, you are admitting you suck at photography and are too scared to hang with us. It’s tons of fun, and most people who go aren’t as mean as me

Unless you leave early, then you face our wrath:
