Well Boys and Girls, it's past due time for another California Photo Walk.
It's going to be a three day event. You don't have to come for all three days, but this is how it's looking.
Friday April 20th.
A day trip through Muir Woods. Some examples can be seen
here.
We have to get an early start, because the place fills up with tourists and you'll be shooting a 20 minute exposure with welding glass to get the people out of your images if we don't.
Later that day, we will take a walk above the ocean along some cliffs, and old military bunkers.
That evening, we can shoot the Golden Gate Bridge, and try to recreate the shot that Abel took as seen
in this thread. Also seen as one of the rotating images on the Portal page of Pixtus.
Saturday April 21st.
We will be venturing about an hour North of San Francisco to sample some of California's finest wines in the Napa Valley. Yes, there are plenty of photographic opportunities there as well.
Here is a
random sampling of a few images.
We have a few choices for wineries as well as where to have lunch.
One of the choices is to eat at the winery where the wedding scene for Runaway Bride was filmed. Or there's a wonderful restaurant where I shot the image of the fountain with the bamboo in the background.
Not much goes on in Napa in the evenings. So we will start on our way back to SF, with possibly a stop for dinner at a place called
The Dead Fish.
After dinner, we go back to SF, and shoot the wharf at night, where I got this shot.

As well as a trip up to Twin Peaks with views of the whole bay area (on a clear night).
Sunday April 22nd.
Fishermans Wharf in the daytime. Wander up and down the wharf. Taking in and photographing some of the sites. Have some fresh crab, or some clam chowder in a sourdough bowl for lunch.
Staying until Monday? We'll find something else to shoot Sunday evening.
The itinerary may change if I can get these folks to perform for us.
They usually perform for free, and only ask that you share your images with them.

RSVP'd No: 2 | wondershots [02-14-2012 08:50 AM] If I was going to be in CA then I'd be all over this. Alas, I'll be on the opposite coast in FL on business. |
