San Antonio - (FULL!) Bridal Practice Aug 10th @ AHUMC - 07-20-2008, 04:03 PM

OK - it's official... FINALLY! lol

I wasn't able to get Sunset Station unless yall were willing to help pay the $500/hr they wanted to shoot there

So here is what we have:

Location: Alamo Heights UMC (825 E. Basse Road - Map)
Date: Sunday Aug 10th
Time: 1:30 - 4:30pm
Cost: "Donation" to the church (I'm going to ask for $10-$15 from each photographer)

We have full use of the Sanctuary and Garden Chapel as well as the outside areas as well as the usher’s room at the back of the Sanctuary for changing. (Now by full use - we still have to respect that it is a church and act accordingly and be respectful of the property.)

This is my first "meet" of this size - so if I have missed any pertinent info - just post it up here and I'll get the answers as soon as possible!

Use the RSVP below to confirm you'll be there.

*****Update as of 8:40pm on 08/06*****

I am FULL now for photographers.
I have 17 phorographers listed as RSVP'd and I have 15 models. So there will be a small amout of doubling up... which I would recommend that if you are an experienced bridal photographer - offer to have a newbie shoot with you. this wasn't intened to be a workshop - just practice... but if any of you that know what you are doing are willing to pass on some tips - I'm sure it would be appreciated!

~~BOUQUETS~~
It dawned on me a couple of days ago that I hadn't thought about any flowers! Then I remembered that I have a family friend that works at one of the floral wholesalers. She mentioned to me at a wedding a few months back about getting together to get some shots of her arrangements to up her portfolio. I finally found her number today and asked (begged) if she could come up with about 10 bouquets for us (I only asked for 10 since not every shot will need to have the bouquet in it.). Whatever she wanted - since they will be for her portfolio. I'm chipping in $50 to her and she is paying for the rest. So be sure to get good shots of the bouquets for her! I told her to just make WHATEVER she wants since we are grateful and desperate! lol But she said she will try to have one of just red roses, some half color/half white, and a couple of just white and just cream.

####Rotation Ideas####
My initial thought is that we would want at least 20-30 minutes with each model to get several good shots. I know that sounds quick, but at that pace you will only get to photograph about 1/2 the brides. If you want we can move at a quicker pace of about 10-15 minutes.... but I think thats kinda too quick. Please chime in on the thread and let me know what you think?

++++Posing Ideas++++
For those of you who are new or relativly new - I'd like to make the suggestion that you spend the next couple of days looking over the different bridal photos on here and other sites to get ideas. Also (I'm not condoning the "stealing" of others images... but) I keep a folder on my desktop called Bridal Examples. As I come across a pose I hadn't seen before and really like, I just drag the photo over into the folder for future reference. then before an event I use the Contact Sheet II Maker in Bridge and print them as a few pages of thumbnails to have as reference if I get stuck in the creativity department.

Of Course you are still welcome as a volunteer bride! (if your schedule allows)

And of course your dress is still welcome as well if you aren't... lol (can you PM me the size - I'm getting ready to mass email the models all the sizes I have availble and see who is still available...)

I had trouble locating a map on that site, so I just typed in the address.

Got word last night that Alicia will be coming up from CC to model for us. She will be in the dress she wore at her beach wedding, and will bring the dress she wore in the water for our TTD session >:o)

^^ That's me! I am so excited, and can't wait to do this! I love meeting new people! And yes Mel, the dress is a 5/6 (we found it in the juniors section).

Ok - I'm at about 13 photographers and about 12-13 models. so for now i am going to say that we have enough photographers... I don't want to be so crowded that we have to get out of each others way to get a shot.

So if you RSVP after now - It will have to be as an alternate if someone backs out.

The list as of 6:15pm on 7/24 is:
mjae69
scotthelsel
Damon
Schlitz
asphoto
pepper52
Nature Man
zmaniscalco
MarkForsythe
DavePerez
Clarionite
KdLaneJr
