San Antonio - Couples/E-Session Practice shoot 10/12/08

I am emailing the volunteer couples this afternoon giving them the opportunity to do either session or both - BUT I need to know how many photographers I will have at each session so I can restrict the number of couples if needed.

Session 1 - MORNING
DATE: Sunday October 12th, 2008

LOCATION:
Japanese Tea Gardens
3853 N. St. Mary's Street
San Antonio, Texas 78212
Northwestern edge of Brackenridge Park, near the San Antonio Zoo

The Gardens and surrounding are will provide beautiful backdrops for more traditional posed photos.

TIME:
0800 (park opens at Daylight) - 1200 (noon) or whenever you need to leave or we run out of couples

WHAT: I've recruited several couples to volunteer TFCD for this shoot.
(some are models with their bf's/gf's, some are older married couples, some are just regular folks that want their photos taken - and i have 2 same-sex couples.. one male one female - if you are uncomfortable with this aspect.. you don't have to shoot them)

Meet-up in front of The Little Church of La Villita
418 Villita Bldg #1300
San Antonio, TX 78205

By starting out at La Villita and then moving around the downtown area - this will give us the opportunity for more urban, creative photos.

TIME:
1800 (6pm) - 2200 (10pm) or whenever you need to leave or we run out of couples

lol just got an email from one of the couples that I had emailed back and she pointed out that I had the date as 10/12/09... OOPs!

Updated the event to the correct YEAR.

Big Question....

And this is just an idea... I don't mind it getting shot down or other options provided.

Since I can't decide between an urban or scenic setting... What do any of you think about splitting this into 2 sessions on the same day? Say, Pretty morning shots8-9am-ish at the McNay or sunken gardens...

And then urban downtown SA street settings from 6ish? (staying off the riverwalk, alamo plaza, hemisphere plaza and main plaza to avoid having to pay their $200 fees!)

Or does that make it too complicated?

Mel, sounds good to me. I'm up for the afternoon shoot. Would love to do a shoot that time of day. Can't do the morning one though.


BTW, I think same-sex couples would be a blast to shoot!!

Jane and I are planning on coming to the event on the 12th. Due to some unforeseen circumstances we may not be able to stay for two sessions but we will try. I like the idea of an early morning shoot.
