Talking March 7th. - 03-02-2009, 02:06 PM

I've told David Glosner about the film group and he said that he would come to the meeting at The Paneta Bakery on March 7th.

If Y'all are going to be there late, I'll be there. If I can stay awake that late. I don't know about going out past my bedtime.

So I'm in Houston now (Friday) and I figure I can stay till tomorrow night since my wife is busy with a retreat this weekend and I wouldn't see her anyway if I went home. So I can make this event.
Since this is the film and darkroom group, I figured I would ask around. The most recent roll of 120 film I had developed by a commercial establishment back in Austin was the last straw. I had them process the roll and scan it only. It came back with hair and dust specks all over. So I took it back and had them do it over, only to find the exact same pieces of hair in the same places. And all it took was an anti static brush to remove them. They just didn't bother. So I'd like to start processing my own black and white 120 negatives. Which leads me to my query. Anyone out there have a spare spool for 120 film? I've got a couple for 35mm that fit over a spindle on my Jobo developing tank I've got, but no 120's.

Had a great time and lots of laughs.

I'm not letting any of you plan my funeral.

Hope to see you all at Film Crawl Too.

Speaking of planning funerals !!!

Lee,

We don't necessarily have to go several places. It might be fine just to wonder around here.

Awwww. Don't worry. We will all honor your request to have your ashes thrown into the Houston Ship Canal.

Yep, had a good time with good conversation. Valerie thanks for bringing a bit of your camera collection, and also that reel for me.

We might eventually have to go somewhere else, as their site says there are no restrooms available.

I do apoligize. After a 13 hour Photographic Expedition to far west Texas, I was totally beat when I got back to the apartment. Shame on me for not driving the extra mile to enjoy a fun evening. Next time I will summon my last ounce of energy!

Now, for the good news: I developed the film from the Saturday Expedition. Based solely on eyeballing the wet negatives I like my new lens and new film. I promise to print something for the next outing/meeting.

Another lesson from the 13 hour Marathon: Keep it simple.

Great conversation. I learned a little about each of you......

And for a little cash, I will keep it to myself.
