Life moving too fast?
Wondering why photography just doesn’t seem fun any more?
Want to ask questions of other photographers but don't want to slow down the group shoot.

Welcome to the second Houston Film Crawl.

(Do I need a film camera? No. This group shoot is run at a slow pace for film shooters or digital shooters who want take the time to set up their shots. Plus, if you show the least interest in shooting film someone will happily try to inform/convert you.)

For our second Film Crawl we will be shooting at Glenwood Cemetery and The Houston Arboretum. Plan A will be to shoot at Glenwood in the morning and The Houston Arboretum after lunch. This plan will be reversed if there is to be a burial at Glenwood that morning.

I have received express permission from Glenwood for our group shoot.
Please read the following photography policy for Glenwood Cemetery.

=================================================

Glenwood Cemetery photography policy
Photography for private (not commercial) use is permitted so long as it does not interfere with the quiet enjoyment of the cemetery by other visitors. Photography in available light is preferred, although flash cameras may be used. External light sources not integral to the camera may not be used. Photography of burials is permitted only with the express permission of the person authorizing the burial, and such permission should be made known to the Glenwood office in advance of the burial. Photography for commercial use is prohibited, except with the written permission of the Vice President and General Manager. Requests should be submitted to the Glenwood office.

==================================================

With your response please provide a suggestion for lunch in the area and, if you can not make Sunday 3/29, would Saturday 3/28 work.

==================================================

UPDATE: We will meet at the Starbucks @ 5535 Memorial Drive
Houston, TX 77007. We will leave Starbucks at 9am for Glenwood.

I think it was the first time for most, if not all of us.

It was a great time and will be going back.

If you had been there you could have shown me the 9 blocks.

Holy cow, Kevin... you are really on top of things... I am just sorting film for development this afternoon... Although, since I do it all in Diafine, why sort??? Actually, I am just sorting by size to maximize tank usage...

Love the little digital snaps, especially the 2 handsome guys at the bottom. Let's see what an afternoon of developing brings.

We went back after Co-op to finish up a roll of film and check out the rest of the cemetery. That place is a lot bigger than I thought. We were shooting in about 1/3 of it.

Pam has some more digital. I may see if she will let me post some.
She has a shot of the Oak that really shows its size.

Well I went too, although you all may not remember me :-) It was a wonderful day for shooting there. Here are a few of my digitals as it will take a while to get my film back....

The weeping angel:

The old Oak:

But not everything worth shooting was huge:

Allan, I really like the 5th one - - it looks like a Mayan glyph.

I just finished a batch of TMY 400 4x5, but only one picture was from yesterday - - the others were all from a month ago - - I am so backed-up developing film. I spent most of my freetime making test prints for the LF print exchange, so I have a huge stack of undeveloped film to process.

I am not saying that I made good images, but I am saying the Zeiss Icon is alive and working.

1st batch is done, waiting on them to air dry now so they can be evaluated.

There seem to be more of us around lately... or, at least, more hams using their calls as forum IDs. Funny, the thought never crossed my mind... photography is one world and radio is another...
