Photodex's Pro Show Gold - 05-29-2009, 12:22 PM

I've been looking at what other photogs are using to produce their shows and this one stands out.
I downloaded it and am trying to learn it.

Do you have any helpful suggestions as to getting the best from this product?
I am having some issues when trying to get audio from a CD to place on the show.
Photodex has a one hour class for $25.. Is it worth it ?

Any help is appreciated.

I never took any classes. I just worked with it and figured it out on my own. There's probably some things I could of learned that would speed the process up. It's fairly easy to learn though after you spend some time with it. If I could of sold more slide shows I probably would of upgraded my version. I really haven't tried to market it lately though so it's as much my fault as anything. I still think people would buy the shows. It's fun working with layers too. I got an email from them the other day on some educational DVD's they are selling at "close-out" prices. I can't find it right now but they should be listed on the website.

Tom - I have ProShow Producer and love it!! Never had an audio problem though. What you may want to do is rip the CD to an mp3 and then use the mp3 in the slideshow.

Rip the music files to your machine in WMA or MP3 format and you should be good to go.
Never have a problem with adding audio.
I use PS Gold for lots of stuff, but if I have to do long stuff, I will export the show(s) as a video file and sequence them inside of Vegas with effects, audio/video overlays, voice-over, etc. depending on how far a particular presentation needs to go.

I agree Tom, if the problem right now is music, just rip to MP3. MP3 works great with the slide show software and you can rip to MP3 using Window Media Player.

Tom,

This is a great program, but be sure to save your work often. It has a tendency to hang sometimes and you need to make sure you have saved your work.

Photodex offers classes at times in the area and I sent my daughter, she learned alot.
