Tutorial for restoring color to old photo

I have an old photo I scanned from a slide. The color is still there however the whole photo has a red overcast in the highlights to the shadows. What is the best way to remove the cast and restore the original color. Any tutorial on the web you can point me to would be greatly appreciated. I am not having much luck finding anything.

Try to start with shift+crtl+B

Then crtl+B and tweak it from there.

Edit: forgot to mention thats in photoshop, just guessing you have it.
