THIS GUY Who I met on OSP is using a Collodion Wet Plate camera now for portraits and stuff. It's very interesting. I'm assuming the 'print' is actually a glass plate that you keep. Very cool indeed and a one-of-a-kind look.
Surely you can PS something to look similar and have it printed on vinyl overlaid on glass or something?

edit: It also looks like each shot is unique as the chemicals do different patterns on the outer edges of the plate...Sweet.

edit #2: I didn't see the photos you posted here Wayne, but I did see the words "Wet Plate" and the PS'd version so I'm assuming this is the type of photo you're talking about?

Sam,

We got it fixed. Go back to page 1, near the bottom. A wet plate photo made with a Petzval style lens. Very unique look.

GOOGLE Matt Magruder for more wet plate work. Matt's in Austin. Here's one of Matt's photos.

I don't know, I coated my SD card with collodion and then inserted it into my D80. For some reason the camera will not turn on any more. Could it be that DSLRs can not do wet plate?
