Cool Hugin finally worked - 07-06-2009, 01:07 AM

I've been trying to get these 3 photos stitched together since forever. Don't ask me how. Full auto mode. Hugin finally got it right. Then I tried to do it again. No dice. Not the best software ever. It's about as good as it's price: Free!

Gruene Hall-The whole thing.

If you follow this link and click on the full size icon, you can see the whole thing, only bigger.

Now I may be in the market for real Pano software.

Cool What distortion? - 07-06-2009, 08:09 AM

Think of it as a fisheye.

Learning pains. I was too close with a lens that was too wide and didn't overlap enough.

Looks good! I can see why that would be a hard one to stitch.

Thanks everyone.

If you haven't been there, I was up against rows of picnic tables. If I backed up the tables would have blocked the beer boxes on the floor. I'll try again with the normal lens vertical.

That's a nice shot, but not an easy pano. For really wide FOV like that, rotating over the lens' entrance pupil becomes much more important, especially with objects at different distances and lots of geometric shapes and repeating lines. Without careful rotation I imagine any stitcher would have a hard time.

I like it. Yes there is some distortion, but it works for me in this situation.

Cool Sold it! Sold it! Sold it! - 07-06-2009, 02:37 PM

Thanks! I may have to clean this up and get it printed big.

A friend at work wants 2 copies: 1 for his house and 1 for his dad in Calgary.

So, where do I get a pano printed?

Are we having fun yet?
