Steve: I used Simplify in a second layer.. Buzz Sim preset.. then erased around her face to bring back details... then popped the colors on the original layer a bit to match colors with the painted layer.

I think I might have run simplify a second time on the top layer, but I don't remember.. its not hard, just keep playing with it.

If it were me, and this was something I hadn't done repeatedly and felt very comfortable doing, I'd just get Miller's to do it for me. - http://www.millerslab.com/info/produ...t/painter.aspx I've never been let down by them before.

Making a portrait look like a real painting is pretty difficult and quite a bit time consuming if you are going to do a job that is going to impress your client. Corel Painter is one program that some photo artists use. One artist I know of in the Houston area charges up to $25000.00 for a large digital picture painting. He has done Doctors, Judges, brides and sports figures. Of course, this is extreme, but the process is very detailed but the results look exactly like a painting and the results are stunning. You might take a tutorial for Coral Painter.... you will also need a Wacom Tablet for your work.
