Poladroid - 07-11-2009, 01:13 AM

I've seen the fake polaroids around for months, but for some reason, just decided I'd play around with them today. I started with a client shot for a sneak peek on the blog (portfolio-building session for possible expansion into kids in the future )...

which led to me wasting way too much time messing around with recent random shots of my dogs...

Kinda fun - you can even watch it "develop."

Very cool! I love your dog composite.

Did you use Poladroid or some other fake Polaroid effect? EDIT: Oops, I just read the title. That looks like a fun program.

It's software that make the polaroid look -- in the collage, I added them as layers so I could create a bit of a shadow so they looked more 3D. And I added the text in photoshop.

The website with the (FREE!) software is: http://www.poladroid.net/.

Mine, except for the text, are straight as they came out of the poladroid camera (except, as I mentioned above, I did add a drop shadow to the ones on the collage). I didn't put any additional texture on the white part - but, if it helps, I think I had "paper" selected under the processing part of "preferences." As for the size - it's just the same ratio that it came out of the "camera" as (with the image portion square).

You don't really have any control over the results (some of mine came out really pink while others were really green - for no real apparent reason), but it's still fun.
