Cool Smudge Painting - 07-20-2009, 04:10 PM

I tried this new (to me) smudge painting technique a little while back on a self-portrait. I like the processing pretty well and so I decided to try it on a few more photos. Please let me know what ya'll think!

It's always fun to do these.
I like the bride especially.
I really like using Corel Painter for this kind of thing, especially with the Cintiq.

Thanks, Dennis. I've never used Corel, but having my little wacom tablet really helped, it's easier to do natural "brush strokes" with a pen tablet than with a mouse.

I like the bride best too. I like broader strokes. Paintings dont have as much detail as photos, which is why I like it like that. To each his own, though.

I like smudge painting too.

Here is a tutorial on it and some stuff I did a while back. (In case anyone reading this thread is wondering how to do it)
