Ok I was running a batch of wedding images and I get this message

I dig through the files and it hangs on this one that Lightroom let me process out. WTF?

Interesting enough, I did a bridal shoot not too long ago where the bride had some money on her and we incorporated it into the shot. I edited the shots with PSE7 and I didnt have any issues.

The treasury department is very serious about US currency. Back in the 60's I worked at a newspaper and just for fun we made a newspaper (18"X23") sized negative of a $5.00 bill. printed up a half dozen for the backshop guys to use as wall art. About ten days later two treasury agents showed up and we had a "Come to Jesus Meeting". I have no idea who tipped them off, but they made believers out of all of us.

My Dad told me a story similar to Don's, which is why he had to hand draw (no photos, photostats, etc) any representations of US money, and it had to be printed a certain % over or under actual size, and had to be "over the top" with cartoonish or otherwise clearly distinguishable features, such as a clown face in place of the "dead pres", different fonts for text and the whole nine yards. Supposedly those rules have relaxed somewhat since then, but it appears that the digital world has created some new ones.

copies and enlargements, regardless of the size, like Don did back in his wild and crazy days of actual currency is still verbotten afaik.

I attended a very affluent highschool here in Houston. Rich kids with spare time generally involves trouble, so we got pretty used to stupid pranks and total lack of common sense from some of these guys, but one day stood out among all the rest.

At the end of 3rd period one day, an announcement came over that said everyone needed to stay in their classrooms. We saw people walking around with guns and jackets with 'FBI' on the back and guys in suits (who we later learned were Secret Service), and we knew someone had screwed up bigtime. We were thinking drug deal, embezzling from dad's company or something.

Apparently, 3 students had gotten together and purchased a printing company in argentina. They were printing $20 bills and importing them to the states and selling them for $5/$10 a piece. In total, it was estimated that they had printed $320,000.

In short, DON'T SCREW AROUND WITH THE TREASURY DEPARTMENT.

Yeah - about 2 or so years ago there was a big stink about Adobe aiding the US Govt in anti-counterfeiting by limiting the use of the software when money is involved. Several of the main copier companies also participate.

Julianne Kost with Adobe does a lot of work for the FBI and other "spooks", but don't tell anyone, I think it's supposed to be a secret.

Ever notice all those "20"s randomly scattered across the bill?

They actually form a pattern - that's what the sofware is seeing.
