Mira --> Twilight-ish transformation - 07-26-2009, 12:27 PM

Friend of mine's daughter turned 10 yesterday, he thought it would be a cool present for me to take a headshot of her, and do some vampiric conversion.

Here's the process I made up last night - C&C welcome

Exp correction, saturation boost in Lightroom

Export to PS - Healng brush, remove hair from left eye, portraiture filter pass, eyedropper sample + very light brush to even out skin tone, noise ninja pass

Size: 118.0 KB

Export back into Lightroom - Dragan Filter applied, color / contrast tweaks
Name: RAN_0013-3.jpg
Views: 157

Back to Photoshop, Create Layer via Copy, boost yellow saturation, lightly erase eye color

Name: RAN_0013-4.jpg
Views: 156
Size: 206.2 KB

Flatten image, more yellow / red saturation tweaks

Noise Ninja pass to smooth everything out even more

Final red saturation / luminance boost in Lightroom to make everything pop

And Voila! Instant mini-punk nosferatu.

Interesting.
But why start with such underexposed image?
IMHO, I think it would look better if the face wasn't blown out.

Whoa! Intense. Funny what inspires kids these days. I guess we would have liked it too in our youth had the technology been there to make such photo's.
