I love presets! With an idea in mind before pressing the shutter, I have a goal what my final image will look like with certain presets in my collection.
Of course the end results of presets heavily depend on your shooting style. So not all of us will agree that one presets looks the same for a variety of images from different photographers.
With that being said, what are your favorite presets?
These are a few of mine: Sugar & Spice Sepia PH Hardrocker PH CleanUp S-Curve Matt's Sin City Matt's Nostalgic Effect Civil War 2

not the only one. I just hadnt had time to check out the post yet because of other junk going on.
The S-curve one I have used before and its slick.
HardRocker i havent seen but like the samples and downloaded it.
Will have to search the system at the house to see what else is in there.

Yep I have the Sugar and Spice, me likey.
I got some Kubota ones and don't get much mileage from them which I was pretty bummed about since their Actions are some of the best. I don't want to go into Photoshop unless it's an absolute necessity, so I've made my own presets for white balance/correction and pop.
For senior/portraiture - Nichole Van has presets too. Not too terribly $$.

Besides the ones I listed above and a handful more, I've been pretty disappointed with the majority of the "free" presets. Even some of the purchased preset have failed to impress me.
Michaelle - I so wanna buy her presets, but I'm also weary of being let down again.

I know what you mean Sonny. A lot of these only "work" on their before and afters because of their shooting style, and it's not necessarily yours. So then, when you push play with your images - you get a little disappointed.
Just like with actions, it's not that hard to make your own preset. Start with one that you almost like and make adjustments in develop mode from there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNWRncKBlFQ

I got the free WOW preset pack, I'm pretty sure they are the ones Paul posted the link to. They are all I need. Covers everything I want to do! I especially love the black and whites/one color tricks. http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=33
Gotta love Free! abril1127 added 2 Minutes and 41 Seconds later...Double Post Merged Below
...But I would love a good sharpening preset! Does anyone have any good sharpening tricks? I noticed the other day if you sharpen it into speckled ugliness, you can clean it up with the noise reducer and it looks pretty good....not sure how it prints though.
