Where do you draw the line? - 08-05-2009, 11:41 AM

I'm still wet behind the ears when it comes to computer editing. In fact, these pictures were edited with "Microsoft Office Picture Manager" using the "auto correct" button. I have an unusual taste in art/style/music/food as well as other things. I care more about what I think than others, but I can't pick which one of these I really like the best. I know the only way I will grow is to learn from others. So tell me, where do you draw the line when it comes to computer editing?

2.

3.

4.

5.

And if you think they all suck, tell me why.

I think #2 is pretty good, beyond that it may be a bit too much.

Why limit your vision with lines?

Every photograph is an abstraction not reality.

I love what Brooks Jensen said on a lenswork podcast recently about this very thing. Sometimes you don't know when you've gone far enough until you go to far and then back up. :) In other words, go until you don't like it and then back up a step.

I love 2-4 the most. i tend to gravitate toward high contrast in my own work so these really appeal to me :0) nice work!

I like 4 the best but I can't decide if I am influenced by the composition, rather than the processing.
