Photoshop Elements question - 08-07-2009, 12:14 AM

Does Elements have a way to create an action like Photoshop? All I want to do is create an action to create a border around my photos.

I'm not sure. You might check out this site:

I found a way to do layer masking here.

Maybe they have some other cool stuff. Good luck!

You can't create action in Elements, but many will play back. If you find a photoshop one you like, you can always give it a shot.

The worst thing about elements is installing actions, brushes, etc. They need to go to a specific place and depend on OS, version, etc. I highly recommend using the Add-O-Matic.

Best $11 you can spend if you have elements.

Lonnie, a good source of info for Photoshop Elements is Elements Village. I browse it often and there are some pretty helpful folks on there.

If you search the site for free plugins or actions, you should get a lot of hits.

I don't have an action like you are looking for, but I could use one too.

Lonnie,
I am sure that you are aware of the Frames in Elements, but as other mentioned you can't create actions, but use actions from photoshop if compatible.

I Binged and found this:

http://www.shutterfreaks.com/Actions...FramesPSE.html

and of course here:
http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/ must be a member but greate place to learn about Elements...

Lonnie,
Was playing with Elements 7 and reading Photoshop Elements for Digital Photographers, when I found that you could set a background color, then use the crop tool to set a crop on your photo, then drag out the crop larger than the photo which should then frame or border the photo.

Just wanted to share...
