Wierd question about images not displaying correctly - 08-24-2009, 01:40 AM

Okay, i dont really know how to explain this, so i took a screen shot to hopefully explain.

Basically, i get a picture looking how i want it in photoshop and save. I always save one full res image, then save another for the web (not using the "save for web" function, just resize and drop resolution) if im going to be posting it online.

I've never noticed this problem until just now, when i posted an image i took of my wife to my official website. The picture on the site came out not as bright or intense as the photoshop version. I thought maybe it had something to do with when i resized it, maybe it loses some quality, etc, so i put the full res up just as a tester, and the same thing happened.

In the actual file folder, when you click the image (any of them, not just the full res) the preview shows up just as it did in photoshop. nice, bright, good color. But, when i double click to open it, the image looks a bit dull again.

The screenshot im going to post is of my the image preview and also of that same image opened behind it. You can see an obvious difference in color between the two. The one in the folder has a bit more of a red tone, and the skin looks softer.

So, Any idea what the heck would cause this?? I really would prefer the nice colorful image and not a dull flat one. Any help is appreciated, or if i just confused the daylights out of you, let me know. I just dont understand why even in the preview for that particular file it shows up nice, but if opened it looks different. Also, like i said, it looks the dull way on my website too.

Here is the screen grab... TPF drops the size down so the quality gets rough, but you can see the color difference. Look at the eyes, and her left cheek. Thats where it stands out the most.

officially stumped... - 08-24-2009, 02:33 AM

Okay... now im really stumped. I just uploaded the pic to facebook and noticed that it seemed to be the nicer version. So, i opened my website and now, somehow, the image has changed into the better one. Im totally confused now, but at least the image is the way i want it!

So in conclusion, mods, you can erase this thread i guess lol. not really sure what all is going on here....
