Photoshop question - 08-24-2009, 09:04 PM

Ok...here's my dilema. I shot a bridal portrait the other day and failed to allow enough room for a 11X14 crop. I like the photo as shot in the 2:3 ratio. Here's my question. How easy is it to "stretch" the edge to get the 11x14 crop ? My thinking is that I can open a new image in photoshop, drag the existing image onto the canvas and then use the copy tool to expand the edges necessary to fill the new canvas. Am I on the right track?

Of course, I've done a little Google search and found my answer. I guess I should listen to Captain Tom and research first before asking here. I'll post my results when I'm done.

Captain Tom is not a real photographer. He only plays one on the internet.

You better be careful. Licensed to carry Captain Tom will come to your house and shoot you.
No, not that way, with a CAMERA.

Custom matting your picture might solve the problem without worrying about any type of cropping at all. If you want your image to be close to 11X14 the frame would have to be larger anyway... or if you want to frame the image in an 11X14 frame... just cut the matt board to creatively frame the picture.
