Duplicate Photo Finder? - 09-26-2009, 08:50 PM

Ok... been hunting around a while and cant find what I am looking for, so thought I would post it here...
Anyone have recommendations on a utility that will:
* search the drives on my computer
* find all duplicate photos (not just by name, but also via image comparison)
* generate some form of report, so that I can go kill the dupes that exist outside the core library?

Thanks
Greg

Hum...a MAC can do this

'iPhoto ’09 introduces Faces: a new feature that automatically detects and even recognizes faces in your photos. iPhoto uses face detection to identify faces of people in your photos and face recognition to match faces that look like the same person. That makes it easy for you to add names to your photos. And it helps you find the people you’re looking for. Clicking the Faces view shows you a corkboard featuring a snapshot for each person you’ve named. iPhoto suggests a set of possible matches you can confirm with a click."

digiKam (free/Open Source photo album software somewhat like LightRoom) will do this as well. Mac or PC.

Funny thing is that I was digging around the Adobe site today... there are a fwe forum posts over there and even a FAQ question that address this, funny thing is that the the answer is along the lines of "We are sorry. Adobe (insert name of product here) does not have or address that particular capability."
