Anyone using Color Eyes Pro for Calibrating? - 10-13-2009, 09:52 PM

I have downloaded the demo of this for the imac.
http://www.integrated-color.com/

Does anyone else on TPF use this program?

This program does look like it properly calibrates the Imac screen for brightness, but I am not sure if it also calibrates the screen for color.

I am wondering how to use this and also run a calibration for the printer. This program does not do the printer calibration. So if I purchase a product such as eye one can I just use it to calibrate the printer or will it try to calibrate the monitor first?

Any help is appreciated.

Yes, I use it. It adjusts the screen for brightness (on an iMac, at least on my wife's, and most I've heard of, you simply cannot get the brightness down to reasonable levels though). There's no hardware LUT in the monitor, so it can only adjust the LUT on the video card, which it does try and calibrate the screen for color. It then builds the profile.

I assume by "eye one" you mean the I1 spectro and Match software? I1 Match will allow you to profile the monitor, and allow you to profile the printer, but doesn't (in an of itself) require you to profile the monitor. I use CED for monitor profiling and I used to use Match or Profile Maker (along with the I1 spectro) for printer profiling. I don't so much any more because the Z3100 has a spectro built in and can generate its own profiles.

Thanks Bill, but what is a Z3100?
