Thanks for the heads up Ken, I just downloaded and about to install the beta software.

Hopefully the updated Water marking, better noise processing and the music on slideshows are well worth the upgrade =)

Man the water marking is freaking awesome.

The slideshow export is kinda lame though, only supports Mp4?

Luminance is disabled they want us to use color noise reduction, not sure why, but I'm liking the results =)

Can't wait for this stuff to go official =)

Found this.

Re: Luminance noise reduction

Luminance noise reduction is only disabled for photos using the new process version - newly imported photos without existing settings.

Photos that are still set to the old process version show a warning triangle in the histogram, and they still use the old routines which haven't changed.

The Edge Detail slider refines the edge detail in extremely noisy high iso images, so you won't notice that on lower ISO files.

WHOA! I just watched the "What's New in Lightroom 3 Beta - Part 3". They added many little features that will help increase your workflow.

We get GRAIN! Just when Kodak and I figured out how to eliminate grain, Adobe brings it back.

I'm glad I didn't upgrade to 2.0 in the last month.

New stuff for Flickr and Lightroom.......

So they're saying their new version should have AT LEAST as good raw processing as Capture One? That would be nice. I always felt that C1 did a better job with the initial raw import but I couldn't be bothered to use both programs. I chose to work with lightroom for all the other features.

I had JUST tried LR V2 and DxO, and had downloaded Capture One 4 and now LR V3 Beta pops up and claims of Capture One V5 coming soon. I guess waiting a little longer to buy something won't hurt...

Looks like a fine upgrade based on the videos. They still have much to do though before the final release. I just d/l the beta to try for myself.
