This is how I would do it.....

•Duplicate Layer
•Do a rough mask around what it is that you want to change
•Copy & Paste onto new layer
•Go to Hue/Saturation - Select the Red Channel and slowly move the sliders until you get the desired results..... OR .....Go to Replace Color and move sliders accordingly

"red" photo I want "maroon" - 10-25-2009, 07:04 PM

I have 'auto white balance' turned 'on' for import into Lightroom. I've had this problem with every photo shoot of these uniforms. Perhaps it's my camera. I shoot with a Canon 40D, Canon EF 28-70mm 1:3.5-4.5 ll lens, Canon 580EX ll with a Fong Universal Diffuser.
Any ideas? Thanks!

It's not your camera. Any dSLR will get confused when there is a lot of a particular color, or lots of shiny stuff, or anything super bright (like that green field.) You may want to consider investing in a grey card. Take a shot or two with the grey card, then shoot away. Makes post processing much quicker.

Thanks Amy! Guess I'll be busy in Photoshop and toting a grey card from now on! Lesson learned! : )

Thanks Mark! I will try your suggestions! I tried a general hue change, but their lips and cheeks went too red, so the steps you suggested will probably do the trick! Thanks again.

You actually probably need to work with the Blue channel. The red channel was already plenty there. The other half of maroon is blue. :)
