Photoshop 8 RAW Help! - 10-31-2009, 12:13 PM

I've just installed Photoshop CS Version 8 on my computer and I'm having a hard time getting/finding a plugin that works so that I can adjust my RAW/NEF images from my nikon d40x.

Any help would be good!

You will have to download the Adobe DNG converter, convert the native D40x .nef files to that format, then you can process with Camera RAW from Photoshop CS. Adobe does not retrofit Camera RAW for older versions of PS for new DSLR bodies.

Am I missing a step? I downloaded the converter and it converted them to .dng
When I try to open them up in photoshop it says it wont load because it's the not right type of document.

Thanks so much, guys.

Have you used the Adobe updater to make sure you have all the final patches for Camera RAW? You must have version 2.4 of Camera RAW to support the DNG format. Check out this posting on the Adobe support forum: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/311899
