You may get a discount if you're a student, check with Imagenomic people.

You have got to be kidding right? 8th grader will be using PS.
I think they mean a student of higher education.

What do you say when people don't want to buy your pictures at the price you set? Do you help them find a place to get them cheaper?

Also, Just so you know, the "Student" version is supposed to be for "Educational Purposes Only", even if it is just an 8th grader. (Why not get 8th Graders started on PS? They'd be LIGHT years ahead of the competition by the time they're 18)
The "Student" version I think has in the EULA that it cannot be used for business or for any type of income work.

edit: We're talking about Purchasing CS4 here, and not Portraiture, right? You mentioned in your last post you were going to purchase the student version of CS4.

I am pretty darn sure that you can use the student edition for whatever the hell you want in the U.S. I'll try to site a source for that when I wake up...

Hmm, thought I read somewhere you can't use it for profit...

edit: Guess you're right. LINK

But what stops everyone from just purchasing the student edition instead of paying $700?

Can a Student Edition also be used for commercial purposes?

In North America, Student Edition software can be used for commercial purposes. Outside North America, Student Edition software is for noncommercial purposes only.
