You have to contact the companies. I know you can call Adobe and get it switched over. Not sure on the rest.

Adobe will allow you to switch from one platform to the other one time without charge. You have to call them to make the switch. But you can never go back without purchasing new software.
If some of the others you have are plugins they may work with either platform. I know that was the case with some of mine.

I do have to ask, why are you changing if you use mostly Adobe products?

Not dissing Macs, they are great, but something is seriously wrong if you get BSODs every six months, maybe faulty hardware?

Macs are way better than windows. I've gotten rid of all my windows systems except one. That one will be replaced shortly. Windows just can't get it right. Macs run much smoother and faster. Good switch, you will be happy.

One to browse the web, do all the crap that most people do on a computer and then one to run hard core applications, do nothing but necessary updates to the software you are using and disable the rest and run the best virus software out there. What are the Stops on the BSOD? How about the faulty program module file? Windows will say "Windows has encountered an error in hal.dll and cannot continue."

I also guess hardware issues | Ditto on that....my guess is rogue video drivers that aren't updating, Memory...
OR have you checked the cooling???? I had a CPU sink that dryed(the compound between the sunk and cpu) out and wasn't effective anymore. the computer would blue screen after a while but only when it hit a threshold for tempurature.

Just remember.... Macs are PCs...As far as "way better and faster", totally subjective. There are plenty of things I prefer to do on my PC over the Mac and vice versa...
It's the OS that you're talking about....I use both. I have no major problems with either. The problems that I do encounter is typically application related and happens equally on both platforms.
BTW: Totally agree that it sounds like a hardware problem. My XP64 rarely if ever has issues....same with Win 7 and OSX...

The MAIN difference between a MAC/PC is the whole 'DIY' factor in my opinion...
A MAC is just a different version of the PC...without all the 'options' - you get it how Apple makes it - end of discussion...
And while the software/hardware integration has something going for it - I think you give up choice...

And while the software/hardware integration has something going for it - I think you give up choice... | Not true. If you want a bigger hard drive, you can go buy a bigger hard drive. Video cards are more specific to systems. RAM, that is always expandable.
Ever seen a Mac Pro? So many configurations you can do with that. i.e. RAM, video cards, RAID setups, etc.
So, the main difference between both of them lies in the creators. Bill Gates was a programmer. (think taking step 1,2,3). Steve Jobs was a creative (in order to open the door, I have to be within proximity of the knob). In any case, it is whatever floats your boat. The 16+ years I played with PCs, I rarely got BSODs as I always had fun tweaking the autoexec.bat and config.sys files and had fun tweaking the RAM. Now, many consumer/prosumer users don't want to mess with any of that or using third party programs
I don't have a problem running a Mac or a PC. It's both personal preference and budgets. I wanted a system that can run consistently smooth for a number of years. I have 2x MacBook Pros, one of them is 3 years old and still runs the same as the day I got it. I also have a Mac Pro which I have added hard drives, upgraded the video card and added more RAM over the years. I got a great deal on it. not many people know about the refurb section of the apple store.
I used to be a Mac hater... all I needed was to try it once, toss CS3 on there (hey it was hot at the time haha), and I was sold. No DLL hell to mess with, no black screens or blue screens, everything runs smooth like any other variant of linux. I'm a happy camper.

Jobs designer background has little to do with current macs. They are PCs with mac os on them. Build out a mac pro and a equivalent performing pc and there lies the real difference. Money. My pcs are every bit as stable as my macs and in many cases much faster. Throw equivalent money at them (if you are a DIY) and there is a difference. Regardless, I do most of my work and surfing on macs as I do think they are very well built machines. However, I still do all photo editing on pc. Every couple of years I replace my motherboard and chip for a couple hundred $ and have basically a new smoking machine.
