5D MKII and CS3 - 03-26-2010, 11:42 AM

Just bought the MKII and now I find out Bridge in CS3 won't read the raw files.
Do I have any options other than buying CS4?
Thanks,
Beth

Buy Lightroom or convert your files to DNG format w/Adobe's free converter. The latter is just another format, and you lose nothing in the process. It's part of my workflow.

I have CS3 and a 5Dm2 and a 7D, neither of which will be read by CS3.

My workflow (abbreviated)

Ingest pictures in Photomechanic (PM will read the raw files - rather it will read the jpeg embedded in the raw file.)

Either:
1. Select best and copy to new folder (less time intensive)
or
2. delete the uggos and keep everything in the same folder - I end up with way more pics.
I chose one route depending on timeframe and what I shot.

Then I will import the pics into Lightroom 2 and make all color/crop adjustments.

Export to JPEG.

Then if more adjustments need to be made, they are done in photoshop.

I can caption/edit/upload 40-50 pics in an hour for PJ work.

You have a temporary option by downloading the free Lightroom 3 Beta 2. That will do the job for a couple of months.

Just get the free beta version of Lightroom. Once you have used that, you will never go back to whatever you do now. Promise. Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye.

Ditto, its an extra step but its not too much extra time.
