I have a Mac now and I am having the hardest time with processing photos and transferring them to zip files etc...I don't have photoshop or anything, just the Iphoto and Preview that came with it...can anyone help me with how to resize pics and then put them in zip files so i can email them out?? Thank you!

In order to make a zip file, you can select the files (using shift or command clicks) then right (ctrl) click on the group and select "compress items". That will create a new file called 'archive.zip'. You can rename that file and send it out.

As far as resizing goes, I personally use Photoshop, but there are many other ways to get that job done. You might consider the open source program 'gimp' as it's free and fairly easy to use.

Good luck!

Sounds like you are trying to email the originals? If so, then I agree with Scott. You may even want to export them into a folder on your desktop and then compress the folder.

If not, then use the email feature in Iphoto to sent the file to Mail. If it is still too large, then adjust the size in Mail (pull down in the lower right corner)
