He had changed the format on my 40d from raw + jpg to a cr2 file only, how can i change the file estension to be jpeg. I only use the Canon suppled software. I have been messing with this for 2 days and have been all thourhg this formum looking for a previous post to no avail, Thanks Debby

You can not just change the file extension. The cr2 files are the Canon RAW format picture files. When your camera saves a jpeg picture file, it takes that RAW information from the sensor and processes it before it saves it. Since the camera did not do that processing, you have to do it before you save the file as a jpeg.

The Canon program that will do this processing is Digital Photo Professional. Assuming that your images are properly exposed and have the proper white balance, select them in DPP and then Save As "Extif + JPEG".

Push the menu on the back of the camera, under the first red menu item highlight quality, press the set button, then navigate to your choice and press the set button.
